Our Family Farm

The Barker family have farmed at Lodge Farm, Cundall for three generations. As a working family farm we spend most of our year growing cereal crops including wheat, barley and oil seed rape.

We first grew pumpkins in 2018 and long time pumpkin pickers will notice we're back in the same field this year as we were then! Rob and David grow all our pumpkins here in the field you pick them in. The process starts in February when Rob pours over seeds catalogues to find even more new varieties he wants to try - this year there are over 50! We drill the pumpkin seeds in May, and then carefully tend to them through to October when they're ready for you to come and pick them where they've grown. If you've got any pumpkin growing questions do ask them when you see them on the patch!

 

You'll find Caroline busy baking or in our pumpkin cafe, whilst Jen does everything digital, in between growing the 4th generation of Barkers to farm here at Lodge Farm!​
